Business Profile

McKinnon and Forbes McKinnon and Forbes was first started January 1994 by Mr Bob Mckinnon (Managing Director) following the closure of Clanfords of Paisley, leaving approximately 25 people unemployed. Bob found most of his men new places of employment.




With Andrew Forbes and John Harding as Bob’s new workforce, they set about trying to achieve the good name that McKinnon and Forbes has today.




The company made such a good start that after 6 months, 2 more employees were started, this included Steve McKinnon who today is a company director and after sales manager.

McKinnon and Forbes Ltd is ideally situated 5 minutes from the M8 motorway. We have a workshop space of approximately 12 000 square feet, which consists of a fully equipped workshop, bodyshop and MOT station.



We specialise in repairs to all makes of vehicle, as well as light and heavy commercial vehicles.



We are also an Iveco Ford Dealership, which has a well-stocked parts department and provides us with all the back up a large franchise has to offer. We also offer a 24-hour assistance service.



Our body shop carries out work for most of the car hire companies in our area, as well as being insurance approved by several insurance companies. We have 6 courtesy vehicles which are available to any customer who has their vehicle in for repair.

Our MOT station is able to test class 1V, V & V11 vehicles. We have 2 pits and 3 MOT testers which enables us to test vehicles without an appointment if required.



Our workshop has always been kept up to date with the latest in technology, and also has several Ford mechanics. We have 8 mechanics who are constantly updating their skills via training courses.



This allows us to identify most vehicle problems without too much delay. We have Fiat Ducato and Ford Transit courtesy vans as well as several smaller vehicles to help keep customers on the road.
